Our Hospital

Our hospital is currently in flux. We have been in this facility for many years and as the area has grown so has our clientele. We have exceeded the capacity of our current building and there are plans in the works to update our space to make it more convenient and expand our ability to serve our clients and patients.

The Following are some of our policies and services.

Appointments:

We are by appointment only. However we know emergencies do arise. If you are unable to keep an appointment or need an appointment, please call and give us as much notice as possible.

Please bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier for the safety of yourself and other's pets. Just because your pet is friendly doesn't mean ALL pets are friendly.

Preventative Wellness Care:

We routinely send out reminders to help you with your pet's schedule. Preventative care is the most important part of your pet's well-being. Although all pets are individuals here are some guidelines for optimum care.

Vaccination Program:

Puppies / kittens-start vaccines at 8 weeks old. Boosters are given every 3-4 weeks until 12-16 weeks of age. Yearly boosters and vaccines are recommended, except in specific circumstances. Rabies vaccines are required by law.

Neutering / Spaying:

It is recommended dogs and cats be spayed or neutered at 5-6 months of age. There are many health and behavioral benefits to this routine surgery. Spaying females before the first heat cycle is proven to significantly reduce breast cancers later in life.

Dental Care:

Oral health care is important to pet's health. Dental cleaning and polishing as well as extractions should be performed as your pet's needs dictate. It can have implications in kidney and cardiac health.

Heartworm Prevention:

Is strongly recommended for all our canine patients. We take care of this potential disease through yearly blood testing and use of monthly preventative medications.

Despite our best efforts at preventative care we know medical issues do show up. We have access to full laboratory facilities and on site x-ray capabilities.

We are also lucky enough to be part of an extensive network of specialists. We have a comprehensive pharmacy to service our patients and in special cases we have access to a Veterinary Compounding Pharmacy. State law requires that we have seen your pet within 12 months to prescribe medications.

We don't board or routinely groom pets.

We do surgery (routine simple) and dental care. We use safe Isoflurane gas anesthetic and monitoring equipment to insure your pet's safety.
